BforB Meetings

What to expect at a Business for Breakfast meeting . . .

BforB Meetings

We aim to provide a professional but relaxed setting where attendees feel welcome and comfortable.

We ask our guests and members to confirm their attendance ahead of the meeting to allow the venue to cater accordingly.

Guests and members are asked to arrive around 6.45 for a 7.00am start. This allows us to register attendees, provides time for initial introductions and networking, and ensure an enjoyable breakfast. Tea, coffee and fruit juices are available upon arrival.

At 7am we sit down for breakfast, usually a buffet selection of hot and cold options. If you have any special dietary requirements please advise us in advance so that we can, in turn, advise the venue.

There is a £10 charge to cover the cost of the breakfast and facilities. We select quality venues based on criteria such as location and access, parking facilities, responsiveness of staff and availability of breakout areas. A VAT receipt will be provided for the meeting fee.

Around 7.20 we open the meeting with a brief introduction, welcome and house keeping points. We then offer the opportunity for guests and members to present a sixty second sound byte to the group. This is your opportunity to sell yourself and to maximise this, we suggest you utilise the following guideline:

  • Your name.
  • Your Company.
  • What you do (products, services, promotions).
  • Why use you (testimonials, relating story).
  • Your ideal referral (specifics - market sector, preferred area or company).
  • Memory hook (be remembered).

Following this we have a ten minute presentation from a member or invited guest speaker. This will cover the services of the member in more detail or will include a topical business presentation.

This will take us to approximately 8.05am, when we break for ten minutes allowing attendees to refill their refreshments and network with others at the meeting. This is particularly useful if you have identified someone you wish to talk with following their sixty second sound byte.

We then reconvene and ask a member to contribute a Learning Point to the group. This will be a brief two/three minute sharing of information that they believe would be useful for the others to know about. This is then followed by the contributions element of the meeting, allowing members and guests to provide the others with an update of any developments during the current meeting or since the previous meeting, e.g. one-to-one meetings held, business that has been generated and referrals that have been passed. This also provides an opportunity for guests to provide feedback on their attendance at the meeting.

The meeting is closed at 8.30am, allowing attendees to continue with their working day, including the carry-over of one-to-one discussions with other attendees within the venue breakout areas.

We hope this helps you develop an understanding of the meetings - however you need to experience it for yourself to appreciate why our members and guests alike, continually provide complementary feedback.
